Frequently Asked Questions

Is this similar to a Keratin treatment?

It's important to note that Keratin is just a protein, and not a treatment. Some of our treatment options do include this protein, while many of them don't. The main difference between our treatments and what you may have seen before is that our treatments are completely non-toxic and free of any harsh chemicals. Many traditional 'Keratin treatments' contain chemicals that can be damaging for your hair.

Is this similar to a Nanoplasty treatment?

Nanoplasty is a technology used in numerous hair straightening treatments. Some of our treatments use Nanoplasty technology, however we do not refer to them as this as our treatments are tailored to the hair and clients desired outcome.

Can your treatments be done on blonde hair?

Most definitely! However, it’s important to note that if your blonde is very dry and damaged the permanent and semi-permanent straightening results may be that 90% of the curl is reduced at the first visit. The health of the hair will be dramatically improved resulting in 100% straight results at subsequent appointments. Our Semi’s can be used on all types of blondes.

Can your treatments be done on grey hair?

For hair that is 80-100% natural grey or a mix of bleach over 80-100% grey then we would advise not to proceed with a treatment due to colour change. If the grey is tinted with a level 7 or below then we can treat the hair, however there will be colour change and likely a fresh colour required. If you are unsure about your grey, please get in touch and we will advise you on the best treatment option for your hair.

When should I colour my hair?

Brunette - Darker colours may experience some colour change. It’s for this reason we would suggesting waiting until after your treatment to colour your hair. Colour can applied straight after your appointment.

Blonde – Avoid any bleach for two weeks after your treatment. Some clients prefer to have their bleach service done prior to their appointment so that their hair remains healthier and shinier for longer (you can have the treatment straight after bleaching, just making sure to allow time for correct hair preparation). However, as the treatment can slightly alter the blonde you may prefer to wait until after your appointment.

How long does the treatment take?

The semi-permanent treatment takes between 2.5-3 hours and the permanent treatment takes between 3.5-4 hours depending on the length and thickness of the hair.

How long do I have to wait before I can add highlights/bleach?

We encourage waiting at least two weeks.

Can I still curl my hair?

Most definitely! If your hair currently holds curl really well then a treatment will only enhance this. You will soon experience beautiful frizz free curls.

How long do your treatments last?

Though every head of hair is different, we find that our Semi’s will last 3-5 months and Permanent lasts 6mths+ depending on the type of curl regrowth. Note: The permanent does not fade, it grows out.

Do the treatments damage my hair?

No. All of our treatments are chemical free. We provide non-tox, natural and organic solutions. These penetrate the hair shaft and lock in moisture, helping to repair damage previously caused by chemical services. Unlike other products on the market our treatments are 100% formaldehyde free.

Can I go swimming after my treatment?

We recommend waiting 10 days before going in salt or chlorinated water. After the 10 day period it is completely fine to go swimming, however we suggest washing salt or chlorine out of the hair after swimming to better preserve the treatment.

Can I have treatments done while I'm pregnant / breastfeeding?

All of our products are safe and there are no known side effects. If in doubt we suggest that pregnant and breastfeeding women consult with their doctor before any type of treatment and note that all products are non-tox with 0% formaldehyde.

How long do I have to wait before I can wash my hair?

You can wash your hair right away. However, we suggest waiting as long as possible after the treatment before washing so that those oils can hydrate the scalp and to avoid creating a habit of needing to wash the hair more frequently. Please see our Expectations page to learn more.

How soon can I tie my hair up?

Whilst our products all claim you can tie your hair up immediately, it is in our professional opinion that for the first few washes you use a spiral hair tie or scrunchy and do not tie the hair when wet. After that any type of up-style is fine with any type of hair tie.

Can I have this treatment with extensions?

We would suggest having treatments done before having the extensions applied/reapplied. We don’t know what the extensions have been treated with or coloured with so it best to leave these out of the treatment.

Can I have your treatment after having a chemical straightening treatment?

Yes absolutely, and we often see this. However, it’s important to note that if there is any damage to your hair our permanent straightening results may be that 90% of the curl is reduced at the first visit. The health of the hair will be dramatically improved resulting in 100% straight results at subsequent appointments.

Will sleeping on my hair damage the treatment?

Don't be concerned if you wake up and your ends have waves. This is okay and doesn't mean you have damaged the treatment during your sleep. Simply blow-dry, straighten or gently wet the hair to remove the wave. For the health of your hair and scalp, plus the longevity of your treatment, we would always advise to go to bed with dry hair.

Will the treatments effect my hair loss?

Our treatments are specifically designed to promote hair growth and enhance overall hair health, making them an excellent option for individuals dealing with hair loss including postpartum.

What products do you use for the straightening treatments?

We currently offer a range of almost 20 different treatment options which are professionally tailored to your hair type and desired result. We have spent years researching our products to ensure that we carry the best quality for our clients.

What payment methods do you accept?

We currently accept both cash and card as available payment options.

Is Afterpay available?

Unfortunately, we do not offer / accept Afterpay as a way of payment.

Do you have any interstate salons or can you recommend anyone?

We have our salon in Kirra Beach, Coolangatta which services clients from Northern NSW, Gold Coast and also interstate travellers.

We also have our salon in Narrabeen, Sydney which services our NSW clients and also interstate travellers.

We have just opened another Salon in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane.

For clients who cannot travel we suggest researching reputable salons in your city and ask if their products are non-tox. This is much healthier on your hair, for you and the environment.
